New Video

We haven’t been entirely idle this last year – we’re still working on a script for another movie. This seven minute short was rather spontaneous. Unfortunately we started it the day before we wanted to finish it, and we missed the mark by a few weeks.

Screenplay News

It has been awhile (well over a year) but we’ve not forgotten what we want to do. The bad news is that we have been very slow in updates. The good news is that we now have two potential Links! I’m working on a screenplay that is making good progress, and we’ve nearly completed a Mother’s Day short (at least we’re close to completion on that).

In other news, we’ve updated our video player. Go to the Beginnings page and be amazed!

Screenplay News

The next screenplay is seeing progress, and we are at a point where we can again begin to shoot video. I’m using the online script writing service Zhura to create the script; theoretically, I should be able to edit the script from wherever I have ‘net access. In practice, I can do that, but typically don’t have the time or resources to do it from wherever I am. Nonetheless, the script is making progress!

Legend of Zelda Screenplays

I’ve been having a hard time working on the next screenplay for quite some time. Tonight during supper it came to my why: the screenplay I am working on is not the screenplay I wanted to write. So, for the nonce, I’ve decided to work on both: The Legend of Zelda: A Day in the Life of Link, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Through Time.

Back at work – Pre-production

After a very long (far too long) hiatus, we are back at work in pre-productin. We had performed some pre-production some time ago, but are jettisoning that work and starting anew. We have costumes, props, an idea, and some locations. We even have a lead on some additional actors to fill in some parts. That, and will still have four weeks of summer!

The plan is to create a thirteen episode “season” with each episode being 5-10 minutes long in a serial type format. We will hopefully begin filming later this week and hope to be in post-production for at least the first few episodes by the end of August.

I found this on digg the other day, and felt it needed a small improvement.

Season 1 Story Arc

I now have the Season 1 story arc put on paper, and next need to find some props and costumes for some of the scenes we’ll be filming. With what I’ve learned from our original Backdoor Pilot, I think I can do better with Season 1. I’ve also decided to film in 4:3 ratio so I can utilise all my cameras at the same time and hopefully cut down on filming time. It’ll require having a second and possibly third cameraman, but I think I can find enough kids willing to help to get that done.

Ocarina!

We went to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Fairre over the weekend to celebrate our daughter’s 12th birthday. It was a good time, and I encourage anyone in the area to go visit.

While we were there we did a lot of shopping (we were with three twelve year old girls – there was a lot of shopping to be done) and we happened upon some home-made ocarinas! Needless to say we bought one. We’ll need to incorporate it into season 1.
